I am YOU is a film about the essence of life. It looks at the undiscovered world of human feelings and shows different opinions about the female and male nature.
The film accompanies young people at the beach of a greek island, as well as focuses the conversations of old grandmothers about their love and life experiences. It also provides a deep insight into the spirit, the fears and the different responsibilities of each gender.
The film includes diverse sequences of the outstanding greek landscapes and nature.
It is not a classical documentary, rather a contemplation about the topic. It also includes several touching sequences with young muscians at the mountain and at the beach.
„There's something in a woman beyond all human delight; a magnetic virtue, a charming quality, an occult and powerful motive. The husband rules her as head, but she again commands his heart, he is her servant, she his only joy and content : no happiness is like unto it, no love so great as this of man and wife, no such comfort, as a sweet wife.“
Robert Burton, The Anatomy of Melancholy, published 1621
